The Sun is our original teacher.
Light is life, warmth + energy, it is a living language of vitality + intelligence.
The ancients knew this. They built their temples, rituals, and entire cosmologies around it.
The sun was God. The Guiding light. Source… And now science nods to what the ancients lived; that light carries information, it’s energy nourishes us, it’s rhythmns helps to regulate our biology, and heal us.
Every beam of sunlight that touches the Earth travels an immense distance through space, carrying a frequency, rhythm, pattern, + potential.
Solstice offers us an opportunity to receive the light more consciously. We can open to new information through our skin, our senses, and the inner channels that by design, know how to intuit these solar codes.
You can use this moment to plant something potent. Solstice has always been a symbolic marker of time. What you conjure in this time counts, what do you want to be celebrating, reflecting on, and experiencing six months from now on the shortest day of the year?
Opening instagram over the past couple days, I see many brands and individuals regurgitating the same solstice sentiments and rituals as AI written posts + carousels.
I mean, it’s beautiful to see the collective consciousness shifting to include more awareness around the ritual + potency of the solar festivals, but it all feels kinda vapid…
When people stop thinking for themselves, culture becomes a hall of mirrors - very Gemini. Everything reflects everything else, and yet nothing is original… And when originality is lost, so is meaning.
Gemini helps us remember that our language is a living technology. You are so powerful when you discern and choose your language. Words, Sound + power are values in my work and I invite you to consider them as you weave words. To recognise and understand your tone, your choice of words, etymology and propagation of narratives... Is it True? Is it kind? This matters now more than ever.
I wanted to offer something different through this solstice portal, so am going to speak to the sun’s placement in Gemini, and the potential learning it offers us. We are sovereign, creative beings + what we think, speak, and choose becomes the architecture of our world for better, or for worse.
Today’s solstice occurs in Gemini - ruled by mercury, Gemini is “The Multi-dimensional” - a weaver of truth through opposites. It invites us to see the whole, by moving through the pieces.
Rather than cite the same solstice rituals i have offered in the past, which now ripple across the wellness sphere with this kind of hollow familiarity…I offer these reflections from the expanded Gemini archetype to integrate into your own understanding of this sign for your personal ritual or contemplative practice. As always, this is not prescriptions, but invitation. I hope the GALA framework I share helps you to orient, reflect, and reweave meaning in a time that is asking more of our minds than ever before.
As the Sun reaches its peak this calendar year, a personal inquiry into what stories have brought us here could be asked? What’s being repeated? What languages do you use to speak about + know yourself? What voices are going unheard?

Deep listening - This is much more subtle than just taking in words on a page or watching a video for face-value information. Gemini can be misunderstood as a speaker, a communicator, but before it speaks, it has an acute ability to receive/hear/sense/know information, to then synthesise and speak to reality.
Communicate with nuance - would love to see binary narratives dissolve in Gemini’s rule this season. Allow your words reflect a fuller spectrum of truth ~ inclusive language free of scarcity and blame, evolves us. Take responsibility.
Think with multiplicity - This may be the skill we’ve all come to learn in these times; To allow complexity to live without rushing to resolve it. To hold conflicting truths will be known as our Spiritual maturity. To resist collapsing our fellow human beings into their grid, or a single tweet, is your practice working. Gemini, in it’s highest mistrusts easy narratives. It goes back to deeper listening, below the radar, the subtext, any historical echoes, or mythic undertones... it bridges ideas without forcing them to amalgamate.
Discern like it’s your job - If you haven’t noticed, we are no longer just navigating information, we are navigating a simulation of intelligence; it mimics insight and originality, it can present ideas and nuance, however it lacks soul, and without the lived wisdom behind it, doesn’t land. Discernment is knowing the difference between generated language and felt language. Is what you’re reading/taking in critical thinking, new ideas or just repetition. Become aware of, and escape your own echo chamber.
